Bitcoin price, 2017 to 2026
Bitcoin price stood at $65,915 in 2026, up 12.4% on the previous period.
The US dollar price of Bitcoin at monthly close, from Twelve Data's BTC/USD reference series. Bitcoin trades continuously across many venues, so there is no closing bell: the monthly close is the reference price at the end of the month, drawn from a composite of trading venues rather than any single exchange. The series starts in September 2014.
The chart uses a logarithmic scale because the price spans three orders of magnitude, from $217 at the start of 2015 to a peak of $115,758 in July 2025. On a linear axis the early cycles would flatten into a line along the floor; on a log axis equal vertical moves are equal percentage moves, so the boom-and-bust cycles stay comparable across a thousandfold price range. The latest monthly close is $62,696, roughly half the 2025 peak.
